Architecture
Real plans, real scale, real words. Children read a floor plan the way architects do, measure their rooms with a tape and learn that 1 square can mean 50 centimetres.
Made by a real architect · ages 3–11
Printable activity books where children measure their rooms, fold paper towns and find out that a building is a promise to the people inside it.
Our story
Archie is a small orange pencil who believes every child is already an architect. He was drawn by an architect who spent years designing schools, chapels, sports halls and family homes, and kept noticing the same thing: children understand buildings with their hands first.
So Archie Studio makes pages you can walk, measure, cut and fold. A floor plan becomes a treasure map. A cereal box becomes a town tower. The walk to school becomes a sense walk, and the kitchen table becomes a studio.
Page by page, a town grows: castles and saunas, a library with robots, a church built from logs by its own village. Each building tells a story about people, light and the land it stands on. Now it is your turn to add one.
The shop
Instant PDF downloads in A4 and US Letter. Print at home as often as you like, for your family or your class.
Printed books
Our printed books are made by Amazon’s print-on-demand service. Each copy is printed when someone orders it, so there is no warehouse full of books waiting and no leftover stock to throw away.
Full-colour paperbacks, 8.5 × 11 in, with a blank page behind every cut-out page, so scissors never spoil the next activity. A hardcover collection is in the making: Amazon prints hardcovers from 75 pages, so we are gathering three journeys into one big book.
What we care about
Real plans, real scale, real words. Children read a floor plan the way architects do, measure their rooms with a tape and learn that 1 square can mean 50 centimetres.
Big shapes for small hands. A 2–5 minute “do it first” task on every page gets bodies moving before pencils do, and every page ends with a question that has no wrong answer.
One book grows with your child. Three levels on every page, Explorer, Builder and Master Builder, so siblings and whole classes can work side by side.
Good buildings let the light in and leave room for trees. Our pages are digital first: nothing travels in a truck, and you print only the pages you use.
Nature & sustainability
A good building knows where the sun rises.
It keeps out the cold and lets in the light.
It leaves room for trees, and for the people who sit under them.
We try to make things the same way.
